Trailer Tuesday: KEANU

Comedy Central’s Key & Peele sketch comedy show ended it’s wonderful run last year, and I was very sad. The show managed to put forth some inventive, crazy ideas and was always filmed with a surprisingly effective cinematic quality that made the show hilarious and engaging. While Key & Peele is done, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are thankfully not. The trailer to their first film dropped last week and it is amazing.

The John Wick parody I never knew I wanted, Keanu seems like the best part of Key and Peele’s comedy: hilarious concepts intercut with exploration of deeper meanings (in this case society’s image of black masculinity). Key & Peele director, Peter Atencio is back in the chair here as well and if his previous work is any indication this film will be wonderfully directed. Also that’s the most adorable little kitten ever.

Keanu hits theaters on April 29th. If you own a cat, I recommend putting a do-rag on it immediately.
